FAQs

How much is an MOT?

We charge the national standard fee for an MOT test.

  • A class 4 MOT test (cars, etc…) is £54.85.
  • A class 7 MOT test (goods vehicles) is £58.60.

A re-test will cost 50% of the first test (i.e. class 4 £27.42 and class 7 £29.30).

When is my MOT due?

You can check when your MOT is due and the history of your vehicle by going to the GOV.UK’s website. You just need to know your number plate.

You can find out whether your vehicle passed or failed, the mileage at each MOT and where the tests were done.

View your vehicle’s MOT details on the GOV.UK website here

My MOT has expired!

If your MOT has expired it is illegal to drive your vehicle. One of the only exceptions to this is if you are driving to a prearranged MOT appointment.

The penalty for not having a current MOT certificate could be a fine. An insurance claim could be affected if you do not have a valid MOT.

Since the recent computerisation of the MOT testing system means that the police  can now check automatically to see if your vehicle has a current MOT.

So don’t delay and book an appointment with us now.
